This is my favorite part of the process. We have finished the install and moved all of the furniture back where it belongs. We went through and completed the finishing touches and now it is time to give the space back to its owner for them to enjoy. More often than not we are performing work for people who have already been living or working in their space for a number of years which means they have lots of furniture to work around. You know that feeling when you just can’t seem to get your carpet clean? I mean you have been vacuuming and scrubbing all day long but there is still so much dirt trapped in the fibers of your carpet. It may not seem like much at first but over the years it really starts to add up! Dirt, dust, mildew, bacteria and other residues hiding in your carpet could be causing asthma or other health conditions. Let’s not forget that carpet can hold onto bad odors no matter how much deodorizer you use. I decided to rip up the old carpet in my home and replace it with hardwood to help keep the house feeling cleaner and smelling better overall. I am not the only one who switched to hardwood for similar reasons! This picture is a pile of dust from the hallway of a home after I ripped up the carpet. After removing the carpet and underlayment we were left with years of dirt that was trapped under it all. After removing this dirt and installing hardwood this client said their allergies improved drastically. This was an incredible experience, getting to work on this private home in the Biltmore estates. Although well kept, the floors were in desperate need of a little TLC. You can see the difference of the newly varnished floors versus the pre-finished floor in the forefront of the photo. My only regret is that I didn’t take more pictures of this project.
